The meaning of "my name,Jill"

"The meaning of my name, Jill"

Jill is a variant of Gillian which has its roots in the name Julianus. In classical times, Julianus was a name born not only by various minor early Saints, but also by the Roman Emperor, Julian the Apostate. For many years the name Julian was used by both men and women. The differentiation in form between Julian and Gillian did not develop until the 16th century. Jill is a shortened form of the Gillian from the Greek term meaning "Soft-haired" and symbolically indicates "Youth".
